November, 25, 2026 - Authenticity
Bill George writes in his book Authentic Leadership about authenticity:
“After years of studying leaders and their qualities, I believe that leadership begins and ends with authenticity. ... That is not what most of the literature on leadership says, nor is it what the experts in corporate America teach. Instead, they develop lists of leadership traits to emulate. They describe the styles of leaders and suggest adopting them. That is the opposite of authenticity."
A client had confidently given many professional presentations. One day, however, his boss put him under pressure: instead of delivering his own well-prepared speech, he was told to present a completely unfamiliar, pre-written talk. It was a disaster: The content didn’t resonate with the client, and he stumbled through the provided slides rather than truly presenting them.
As a result, he became so blocked for years that he occasionally experienced blackouts and had to stop mid-presentation. With RESPEKTRUM®’s knowledge about authenticity, he developed a new and lasting sense of self and is now a sought-after speaker at major conferences.

October 30, 2025 - Rejection
Rejection is often a painful experience. How do you handle it?
To deal with it differently, Mr. A. designed an exercise for himself and, for 90 days, deliberately asked questions where he expected rejection. His surprising conclusion:
1. Not asking means having already lost.
2. About 20% of his – sometimes unconventional – questions received unexpectedly positive answers. For example, a restaurant developed entirely new menu options in response to the request for colorful dishes.
3. Another 20% led to interesting conversations and fresh perspectives.
When we change our usual ways of thinking and behaving, we may risk rejection – but we also open the door to new, different results.
